I made two chuck wagons out of large cardboard boxes and paper to put the food in. We had "hay bales" (rice crispy treats), popcorn, PB&J sandwiches, cookies and cake.
I made sugar cookies and used an icing that hardens so they didn't mess up when stacked. Here is a link to the recipe.
I made small bags out of white cotton cloth with a yarn draw string. Each bag had a few chocolate gold coins and other things for the kids to take home from the party.
I made the cake using a 6 inch cake pan. It was four layers. I used spaghetti for the cactus spines.
I used another large box to make a "wanted" poster that each kid could get in to have their picture made.
This party was outside, so there was a lot of running around! I made a few store fronts out of cardboard boxes and craft paint to look like an old western town.
This was a combination ceremony/banquet, so the two tables at the end, where the wedding party sat, were moved into place after the ceremony.
We had a total of six tables, seating eight people each for guests. There were two more tables for the wedding party. We used white table cloths and chair covers to make everything cohesive. The purple chair sashes gave us a touch of elegance.
Each table top had a dark purple velvet runner, two floral arrangements, a stack of decorative books, and seven candles in various sizes and votive styles. Loose pearls and purple rhinestones were scattered across the velvet.
These arrangements were made with Dollar Tree flowers. I used white roses, deep purple mums, lavender, statice, and a white and pink "wild flower." They were set in a foam ring, hot glued to a plastic plate. Each one cost about $7 to make.
The centerpiece on the wedding party table was an old candelabra of mine. I made a flower ring out of all of the left over flowers to go around the base.
I used 50 cent tea light candles from the Dollar tree and toilet paper rolls to make these pillar candles. Here is a link to my craft page with instructions.
